Hello All, Welcome to Group 5. This is going to be a
great experience. I am just learning to use the forms
in our group 5 location. I would like to hear back
from all of you how you would like to approach this
idea of collaboration. Do we want to go with a theme
or just let it all hang out and do what we all do
best. also we are broken into 3 areas: Twin Cities(4),
Milwaukee(3), and Chicago(2). Do we want to just trade
around our area and drive half way to the next town to
meet with the next group member. If this is how we do
it we should start in Chicago to Milwaukee to Twin
Cities. The reasoning is that there are fewer people
in Chicago and the sculpture will be smaller to
transport around and once it is in the twin cities I
can help transport it around with my truck.  Also,
lets try to make this piece fit on a pallet and 6'
High. This will make it easier to build a crate to
ship it around in for the final showing. If anyone
wants to call me feel free.

Kelly, Thanks for jumping in there with your group.
Just to clarify though, you are (as a group) making nine sculptures...not one

There will be one finished piece for every participant. Each person starts an element, passes it on at each exchange, and receives one at the same exchange, adding elements to progressively larger pieces each time.

I'm sorry I haven't contacted all the facilitators yet to rehash the details, 110 people including 16 facilitators is a handful of work.

contact me with questions, but I'll be in touch soon.

Hey all,
I think the suggested plan of operation is practical.  As to content, I think How WE put this thing together, as it evolves, may be the focal point of the piece. A group of almost strangers beginning with there own vocabularies wk'n toward a unified sentiment. In short I agree we should begin, each with our own ideas and as we rotate works communicate more on how to put the bits together. That is a worthy topic in itself.
